Getting into a medical school is extremely competitive. Apart from demonstrating exceptional academic grades in science subjects such as chemistry and biology, and showing evidence of commitment towards this career path, most A-List schools would require some form of entry examinations for you to even be considered. In this section, we will cover the various entry examinations required for all you aspiring future medical professionals.
Want to complete your Medicine undergrad in Australia? For most Australian universities, submitting an ISAT score is required. ICON+ also runs a workshop on PQA, which some Australian universities require instead.
Trying for a place at the Lee Kong-Chian School of Medicine? To apply for the NTU-Imperial programme you must submit a BMAT result.
Already graduated? If you want to enter Medicine as a graduate, the tests required varies from country to country. MCAT is used for the US, Canada, Duke-NUS and most Australian Universities. GAMSAT is used by Australian Universities, some UK Universities and in recent years, Duke-NUS.
The quality of instruction I received for my ISAT classes was par excellence! My Instructor was experienced and had mastered the format of the test perfectly, which was something that I wouldn't have been able to benefit from had I studied on my own! The high-difficultly practices we did together helped me to apply the techniques I learnt to the test effectively. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a similar question that we practiced in the classroom appear on the actual test - BONUS POINTS! Thank you!
I had good practice questions and very clear clarifications from Instructors who are patient in explaining concepts multiple times. Effective and systematic test-taking strategies, and very good guidebooks available for reference. Good notes provided by the Instructors as well. They simplified complex concepts into bite-sized and easily understandable nuggets, especially for a non-science major like myself. Thank you, both! I wouldn't have been able to survive the MCAT without your help.
The course was comprehensive and structured, and the instructor placed just the right amount of emphasis on the various sections of the test. With that, I could pinpoint my strength and weaknesses and work accordingly! It was an enriching prep experience I had at ICON+. In addition, I was really impressed with the collection of library resources that I had access to for the BMAT & UKCAT. It helped me a lot in my revision! Thank you!
Through the 2-day intensive coaching classes, I was given multiple practice questions as well as useful answering techniques. I am very grateful to ICON+ for helping me get a good ISAT score!
The Personal program at ICON+ allowed me to have one-on-one, personalized time with my ISAT instructor, with the flexibility of planning my own schedule and pacing myself. The curriculum was well taught, organised and systematic. Thank you ICON+ for all the help!
My Instructor greatly helped my understanding of Physical, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry for the MCAT. She is fluent, kind, and approachable in clarifying doubts. I had a great experience learning in this Centre, and would definitely recommend this to my peers who are pursuing further studies. The content and materials given were more than sufficient for my studies.
There were no materials that I could get my hands on for ISAT so I was unsure of what to expect, but the practices ICON+ provided really helped in my preparation. There was actually a similar question in the real test itself!
I am so relieved that I cleared the BMAT (7, 7, 4A)! And it's all thanks to ICON+! I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and patient instructor :)
The lessons were very flexible and there were always make-up and review options. There was also a lot of material for me to practice, which I found very useful, seeing that the UKCAT is all about speed.
Even after my GAMSAT course ended, I still had plenty of content with which to practice on my time-management and work on my stamina for the test. I could not have completed so much through self-study!
