MCAT
Course Overview
What is MCAT?
A mandatory 7.5-hour computer-based test for prospective medical students applying to programs in the United States, Canada and Singapore.
Consists of four sections: Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour; and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.
Conducted between April to September. Candidates may attempt the exam up to three times within a testing year.
Each section is scored between 118 to 132. The total score is an aggregate of the four sections and ranges between 472 - 528.
Official scores are released 30 - 35 days after the exam date.
Medical schools generally accept scores dating back two or three years (4 years for Duke-NUS)
mcat Test Format
The test consists of 4 sections:

Section I: Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
Scientific inquiry and reasoning skills using university-level knowledge of general chemistry, organic chemistry, introductory physics, introductory biology, and first semester biochemistry.

Section II: Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
Comprehension, analysis, and reasoning of topics in the social sciences and humanities

Section III: Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
Scientific inquiry and reasoning skills using university-level knowledge of general chemistry, organic chemistry, introductory physics, introductory biology, and first semester biochemistry.

Section IV: Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior
Scientific inquiry and reasoning skills using university-level knowledge of introductory biology and first-semester psychology and sociology courses.
